President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon had a meeting with Prime Minister of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria Abdelmalek Sellal on the sidelines of the 21st Session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP21).
A constructive conversation was held on the prospects of expansion of cooperation between the two friendly countries.
President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon at the beginning of the meeting stated that "the people of our glorious and ancient states are connected by common and long-standing ties of history, culture and religion."
"We are also interested in fruitful cooperation with the Republic of Tajikistan, and always strive to establish cooperation in the fields of economy, culture and energy," - said during the tête-à-tête meeting Mr. Sellal.
As well, the sides exchanged views on bilateral cooperation in the fields of hydropower, industry, regional and inter-regional trade, joint ventures for processing and production of vegetables and fruits, as well as oil, gas, creating oil refineries.
It was expressed hope to further establish cooperation in the fields of education, science and culture.
The parties also expressed concern about the current situation in the Middle East, were in favor of a peaceful solution of the crisis in the region, and expressed the hope that Muslim countries will strengthen their cooperation to combat terrorism and extremism in the framework of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
