The Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan His Excellency Emomali Rahmon made a working trip to Shamsiddin Shohin district in Khatlon Province and Darvoz district in Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Province (GBAO).

The purpose of the President’s working trip was the familiarization with the socio - economic development of the regions and social well-being of its people, creative and improvement work and meeting with residents and activists of Shamsiddin Shohin and Darvoz districts.

During his working trip, the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan His Excellency Emomali Rahmon participated in a solemn ceremony of the commissioning of the administrative building of the department of the State Committee for National Security of the Republic of Tajikistan in the Shamsiddin Shohin district’s Shurobod village.

Later on, in particular in Shamsiddin Shohin district, the Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon visited state sewing-manufacturing enterprise and fruit and vegetable processing enterprise, participated in the launching of its work and spoke with the company’s employees.

 President Emomali rahmon also visited the construction site of a stadium and palace of culture as part of his working trip to Shamsiddin Shohin district, and laid its foundation stones.

In particular, in the Sino mahalla of the Shamsiddin Shohin district with the participation of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon was commissioned a modern hotel.

While on a working trip to the Shamsiddin Shohin district, Emomali Rahmon attended commissioning ceremony of a new Nawobod Secondary Educational Institution #1.

In addition, the Leader of the Nation visited the exhibition of achievements of Shamsiddin Shohin national economy.

In the continuation of his tour the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan His Excellency Emomali Rahmon and President of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), Dr. Bandar Al Hajjar laid a foundation stone for the construction and rehabilitation of the Kulob-Shamsiddin Shohin section of the Kulob-Qalai Khumb highway.

A total length of this section is 32 kilometers and 51 million U.S. dollars are expected to be spent for implementation of this project.

In light of this, Emomali Rahmon, President of Tajikistan and Dr. Bandar Al Hajjar, the President of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) attended an official ceremony of introducing the Shourobod-Shohon section of the Kulob-Qalai Khumb highway into operation.

A total length of the Shourobod-Shohon section is 40 kilometers.  This section has been rehabilitated amounting USD $93 million under financial support of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, Islamic Development Bank, and the Saudi Fund for Development, Kuwaiti Fund for Arab Economic Development, Abu Dhabi Fund for Development and the OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID).

Upon completing his trip to Shamsiddin Shohin district, the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan His Excellency Emomali Rahmon visited the Darvaz district in the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Province.

On the same day, President Emomali Rahmon attended foundation stone laying ceremony for the construction of a 26-kilometer Shkev-Qalai Khumb section of the Dushanbe-Kulob-Darvoz-Khorog highway.

The project includes construction of a 22-meter bridge and a 330-meter tunnel.  The project will be implemented under financial support of the Government of Tajikistan, Islamic Development Bank, and the Saudi Fund for Development, the Kuwaiti Fund for Arab Economic Development and Abu Dhabi Fund for Development and the OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID). 46 million U.S. dollars are expected to be spent for implementation of this project.

The President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, in particular, attended a ceremony of commissioning new residential buildings in the Yakhchisor area of the Nulvand jamoat and handed over the keys to residents affected by the disaster. The houses were built for victims of a July 8 flooding.

At the conclusion of the tour, the Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon visited the exhibition of achievements of Darvoz national economy and folk handicrafts.
