Today the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon congratulated his compatriots on the occasion of celebration of the 17th anniversary since the adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan. In the beginning of his message the Head of State noted that this critical historic date is solemnly marked in the entire territory of the country as a holiday of formation of democratic statehood and strengthening socio-political security and stability of Tajikistan. In this regard, he felicitated and wished the Tajik people health, peaceful and worthy life, happiness, welfare and success.
As the Tajik leader stated: “It is well-known that the present Constitution is the result of our state’s independence. It is on the basis of State Independence that the real foundations for defining the basics of constitutional structure, strengthening state authority, areas of social development, foundation of a newest statehood have been laid and the consistent development of state, stable political situation and security of society, protection of national interests, supremacy of law, enhancing law and order, protection of human rights and freedoms have been ensured”.
President Emomali Rahmon mentioned that in this period the first documents regulating relations on formation of elements of statehood, activation and strengthening structure of state authority have been approved.
Emomali Rahmon, referring to historic role of the Constitution, stressed that from the first years of independence the people of Tajikistan as an exponent of sovereignty and the sole source of state authority defined its destiny just according to the provisions of this determining document and concretized the areas of development of all spheres of its life.
President of Tajikistan expressed confidence that the firm determination of our people will guide us in the way of achieving constructive strategic goal and strengthen self-recognition and national pride, love and appreciation of every resident of the country with regard to this crucial document and through it to the Motherland.
