The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon presented state awards and title conferment certificates to more than seventy individuals for their outstanding achievements in science, education, technology, culture, literature, health care, and manufacturing.

The event took place in the Palace of the Nation. Among those who received orders and medals were public figures, civil servants, figures from culture and arts, teachers, workers, entrepreneurs, builders, agricultural sector workers, and representatives of other professions.

By a presidential executive order, the former chairman of the National Assembly of Tajikistan Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloev was awarded order of the Sitorai Presidenti Tojikiston (The​ Star of the President of Tajikistan) in the first​ class.

By presidential decrees, three persons were awarded the 2020 Avicenna State Prize in the field of science, technology, and 12 people were awarded the 2020 Ismoili Somoni Prize.

For the first time in the history since independence, by the decree of the President of Tajikistan for the appreciation of the best teachers a special state award was established and five people were presented the President's Education Awards.

By the government decrees a group of young scientists were awarded the 2020 Ismoili Somoni Prize in the field of science and technology.

One honorary title People's Writer of Tajikistan, three honorary titles People's Poet of Tajikistan, one honorary title People's Artist of Tajikistan, one honorary title​ Honored Artist of Tajikistan, two honorary titles Honored Worker of Tajikistan and, one Order of Sharaf in 2nd class were awarded today. Thirty-six people were awarded the Khizmati Shoista (For Merits) and three people received certificates of honor for their valuable contribution to the development of science and culture, effective activity in public service, and high industrial and business achievements.

In his speech, President Emomali Rahmon congratulated the audience with the 29th anniversary of state independence and noted that the fruitful and faithful activity of glorious and honorable children of the nation and their creative work aimed at the prosperity and progress of our beloved Motherland will always be appreciated by the state.

He also emphasized that the anniversary of state independence will be remembered with important historical achievements and events, as on the eve of this joyous event the beautification and landscaping works are expanding throughout the country.

Despite the difficult situation in the world, the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the national economy, 2020 is a historic and progressive year for our beloved Tajikistan in all spheres of life, including society, revival of folk crafts, and rural development.

“The deep-seated changes that have taken place in the capital of our beloved country - Dushanbe and in all parts of Tajikistan are the result of the hard work of our patriotic people," noted Rahmon.

“The executive bodies of state authorities of cities and districts with the support of honorable entrepreneurs have done remarkable work toward the upcoming 30th anniversary of state independence of Tajikistan,” he added.

He also pointed out that the creative and landscaping works which are underway in different parts of the country, is a clear evidence of the generosity of our people, especially entrepreneurs and honorable men who are working for a prosperous and peaceful future.

“All these beautification and creative works are the result of peace and unity, patriotism and self-awareness of our people and the tireless work of the leaders of the labor arena,” he added.

Concluding his speech, President Rahmon expressed confidence that all those who have been awarded state awards, will continue to devote their efforts to the prosperity of our country, lasting peace and stability in society, economic development and other creative goals.
