Today in Kiev the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon met with the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovich.

The issues of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Ukraine have been reviewed during the talk.

The Head of State Emomali Rahmon stated that the meetings and negotiations held in the framework of his official visit to Ukraine are yielding practical results in further strengthening political, economic, cultural, humanitarian and other relations. The Tajik President also highlighted the important historical date – 20^th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Tajikistan and Ukraine celebrated in April current year.

The sides exchanged opinions on the issues of cooperation in spheres of education, culture, opening of an embassy of Ukraine in Dushanbe, activities of Business Council of Tajikistan and Ukraine.
