Today, the meeting of the Security Council of the Republic of Tajikistan was held on the results of activities in 2012 and tasks for 2013 chaired by the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Head of Security Council of the country Emomali Rahmon.
The heads of both chambers of Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, Prime Minister, officials of the Executive Office of the President, leaders of security, defence and military structures, law and order organs, supreme judicial and justice bodies, Prosecutor General’s Office, ministries and agencies for economic issues and other officials have attended the meeting.
During the session the leaders of the mentioned structures reported on the results of activities in the area of fight against crimes and criminality, particularly organized transnational crimes, detention of dangerous criminal groups, confiscation of illegal weapons and ammunition from the population, elimination of conditions conducive to criminality and in general ensuring stability and security in the country.
As it was mentioned, in 2012 the criminality was reduced and in general 16 thousand 600 crimes have been registered which is for 270 crimes less than in 2011. This year the grave crimes, including with use of firearms, have been reduced for 23 percent and taking into account the fact that the number of cases of concealment of the crimes or their non-registration has also been reduced.
At the same time, it was stressed that the prevention of crimes and criminality, solution of committed crimes, subjection to liability of criminals and criminal groups require well-coordinated and effective activities of all responsible structures.
