Today, the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon sent a congratulatory telegram to the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, which, inter alia, states:

I sincerely congratulate You and all the people of the friendly country on the occasion of the significant anniversary of Independence Day of Pakistan.

The government of Pakistan in recent years has made a lot of achievements in all fields, and actively participates in regional and global processes. A glowing example is the beginning of the process of gaining full membership of Pakistan in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and we, as true friends, are satisfied and happy about it.

The origins of the historical ties between our countries and nations come from the depths of ancient times, and they constitute a solid foundation for modern relations between our countries.

I am pleased to state that in recent years our traditional friendly ties and relations have gained a high level of content, and we are interested in all areas.

Deeply convinced that achieved high level of our agreement during your visits to the Republic of Tajikistan will be fully implemented and meet the aspirations and interests of our peoples, stability and security in the region and the world.
