At the Beijing Diaoyutai residence on September 2, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon met with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Agricultural Bank of China Ltd. Liu Shiyu.
The meeting discussed issues of cooperation with the largest bank in China.
At the beginning of the meeting the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon expressed his satisfaction with the level of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and China, adding that every year our friendly relations and cooperation elevate to a qualitatively new level, being filled with new meaning and content and the active participation of the Agricultural Bank of China, along with other Chinese financial and economic institutions in the implementation of various investment projects and programs in Tajikistan is in mutual interests.
It was emphasized that the Agricultural Bank of China on the basis of an agreement "On cooperation in the agricultural sector" from 13 September 2014 has conducted a number of specific works amounting to $ 100 million, in particular, in cooperation with the Investment Centre in China has attracted Tajik specialists and experts from the banking sector to the training workshop and carried out funding for projects in the agricultural sector, in the development of new land, and etc.
The sides noted that the issue of the preparation of programs of project financing, including for the development of sectors of horticulture and viticulture, animal husbandry, poultry breeding, processing of agricultural products, improvement of irrigation systems and the development of new lands is being discussed within the framework of cooperation of the OJSC "Agroinvestbank" and the Investment Centre of the Agricultural Bank of China.
President Emomali Rahmon has called an important issue of development of mutually beneficial cooperation with the Agricultural Bank of China with the banks of Tajikistan, especially with the State Savings Bank "Amonatbank".
Special attention was paid to the export of fruits and vegetables from Tajikistan, including cherries, to China.
At the meeting other issues of mutual interest have also been touched upon.
